Dance Photography and Workshops
Welcome to my portfolio of dance photography! Over time the portfolio has become very international and now includes performers from far too many countries to mention ... and not just dancers but also dance companies including the English National Ballet, the Birmingham Royal Ballet, the New English Contemporary Ballet, the National Ballet of Cuba, Danza Contemporanea de Cuba, the Northern Ballet Theatre and most recently the Ballet estable del Teatro Colon.
Enjoy! ...and please do leave a message in my guestbook if you like my work
I also would suggest that you visit another of my sites www.rowbotham-cirque.book.fr
which contains more recent work and also the photowall.
I continue to work with both individual performers and dance companies and can be contacted through this website.
The images at the top of this page have been used to publicise an exhibition of my work at the Point Theatre in Eastleigh, Hampshire from September 2008 through to mid June 2009. My work has also been exhibited at Swindon Dance, Gloucestershire Dance, at the Cloud Dance Festival and at VideoDanzaBA 2011. 2012 exhibitions will be at the Point Theatre, Eastleigh and at Deda in Derby.
The photos to the far right of this page were taken as part of a workshop with Lois Greenfield, 2008. The images were shot at the Lois Greenfield studio in New York City with members of the Amy Marshall Dance Company, Andrew Claus and Smitha Radhakrishnan.
The image above right is of Birmingham Royal Ballet dancers Ambra Vallo and Chi Cao. The photo below right is of ballet dancer Emma Brunton from a photoshoot at Swindon Dance.

It was a pleasant surprise when Rachel Louisa Maybank mailed me a while ago saying that it would be nice to do another shoot with Harry Alexander ...and so today we did ...a lovely relaxing break after a very hectic weekend running two whole days of workshops. It is early days to review everything we have but here is a sneak preview.... Harry sporting ostrich feathers courtesy of the wonderful Missy Malone. Burlesque or Swan Lake? ...you decide!
a very successful workshop over the weekend ... working with dancers helena casado cortes, julia davies, luca varone and joseph mackie-graves and a team of enthusiastoc photographers resulted in many super images . Massive motion blur was one of the techniques we experimented with as a team. Here is Helena.

I am delighted that an article has been published about my work in the winter 2012 edition of Bowen's Litebook. Bowens are a leading international manufacturer of photographic studio lighting. Very pleasing!. Dancers featured in the article are : Rachel Lousia Maybank (in Gloucester Cathedral), Kieran Edmonds at Swindon Dance, Chané Henderson representing Fitnay, Udifydance and Lila dance, both at the Point Theatre, Eastleigh. Many thanks to these and all the very many other dancers who helped make this possible.
